Hey everybody! My name is Brian Camper and I’m the creator of Defend the Diamond, a social media account (@def_the_diamond) dedicated to dissecting baseball infield defense. I was inspired to create Defend the Diamond because of my passion for the infield defense side of the game. I wanted to share my insights of the finer details of infield defense in order to help grow the game and its players/coaches.
I’m currently the Head Baseball Coach as well as a Physical Education teacher at South River High School in Edgewater, MD. The 2019 season was my 1st season as head coach, and 7th coaching high school baseball. Previously, I was the JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at South River. Prior to coaching at South River, I was an Assistant Coach at Salisbury University under Doug Fleetwood.
